Women’s Self-Defense Workshop Coming to Jasper July 12

Local women ages 14 and up are invited to build confidence, sharpen their awareness, and learn vital self-defense skills at an upcoming Women’s Self-Defense Workshop on Saturday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Māsharu Martial Arts, 716 S. Wheeler Street.
Hosted by experienced instructors, the interactive class will run approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and include discussion, demonstrations, and plenty of hands-on practice. Participants will learn practical, real-world techniques including:
Situational awareness.
Grab releases and escapes.
Strikes and kicks with targeted areas to maximize effectiveness.
This class is designed with beginners in mind and welcomes women of all ages. The mission is simple: teach practical self-defense skills while empowering women to feel confident, aware, and capable of protecting themselves.
Participants should wear comfortable, modest exercise clothing. Pre-registration is recommended (to help instructors plan for class size), but walk-ins will be accepted if space allows.
