Shortly after 6 pm Thursday Kirbyville First Responders, Police, Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department, and Trout Creek First Responder, Howard West were called out to 1005 W. Julian Morgan Street in Kirbyville (Hwy 1013 W.) to a one-vehicle rollover accident with entrapment.
According to Karen Smith of Kirbyville, she was driving right behind the Jeep driven by Stephanie Hester, also of Kirbyville. Smith said that Hester was traveling East and slowly veered off the road. Right after that, Smith said that Hester overcorrected and her vehicle began flipping.
After more than an hour, rescuers were finally able to extricate Hester who was quickly transported from the scene and to Air Rescue.
At the time of the flight, Air Rescue was unsure if they were taking Stephanie to Beaumont or Houston but that her condition would dictate that once they were able to assess her more thoroughly.
