TxDOT Announces Departure of Beaumont District Engineer Martin N. Gonzalez

BEAUMONT, TX – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced the upcoming departure of Martin N. Gonzalez, P.E., who currently serves as the Beaumont District Engineer. His last day with the department will be August 31, 2025.
Gonzalez, a TxDOT veteran with over 24 years of service, has led the Beaumont District for more than five years. During his tenure, the district consistently ranked among the top three in the state for Follow-up Action (FUA) performance, achieved its highest Pavement Management Information Systems (PMIS) scores in over a decade, and strengthened both safety protocols and internal accountability.
Beyond his work with TxDOT, Gonzalez is also a veteran of the United States Army Reserves, having served more than 22 years, including a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
According to TxDOT, Gonzalez has accepted a new opportunity that will allow him to be closer to home and spend more time with his family.
