Updated: Truck completely destroyed in fire North of Kirbyville

DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "At approximately 2:50 p.m., a 2019 Ford Raptor was traveling north. It is reported that the driver heard a popping noise within the motor and pulled to the shoulder of the road and the pickup caught fire".

 

The driver, identified as 36-year-old Valdenar Maldonado-Pineda of Dayton, was not injured.

At 2:51 Friday afternoon the Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department was called out to Hwy 96 and Cr 480, North of Kirbyville .


Once there, firefighters began working on extinguishing a white extended cab pickup truck that was fully engulfed in flames.


The vehicle was a complete loss, but no injuries were reported.
