Trout Creek clean out continues, making the area safe and hopefully, less flood prone

There is more work being done near the Trout Creek bridge next to the Auction Barn in Kirbyville this weekend.

David Littlefield, owner of Littlefield Dozer said that he and Steven Sowder are doing the work on a Jasper County contract. "We are removing spoil from the east side of the trout creek bridge." This area is infamous for flooding resulting in property damage and loss in recent flooding.

The property was badly overgrown with trash, building materials, and anything else imaginable as it has traveled downstream, clogging the creek. It is believed that removing these things and rebuilding the banks should be a huge help in flood prevention.
