JASPER COUNTY, Texas - Officials from the Deep East Texas College & Career Academy, Jasper County Emergency Services District No. 4, the City of Jasper, Jasper ISD and the office of Jasper County Judge Mark Allen traveled to Lumberton to meet with representatives from Lumberton Fire & EMS and Hardin County ESD No. 2.
Lumberton Fire & EMS has donated a surplus fire engine and 20 self-contained breathing apparatuses to the Charles E. Gee Memorial Fire Training Facility.
The 1997 Spartan/Ferrara fire truck will be delivered soon and put into service with updated branding featuring the facility’s logo and lettering. “Anyone who knew Charlie understood his commitment to the fire service, to training, and his passion for yellow fire trucks,” said Jamie Gunter.
The estimated value of the vehicle is $800,000 new and $150,000 used.
Jasper County representatives expressed deep gratitude to the Hardin County ESD 2 commissioners and members of Lumberton Fire & EMS, calling it the start of a long-lasting collaboration.
