Spindletop Partnership Proves Beneficial in First Days of Operation

On Thursday, September 7, 2023, at around 2:30 PM, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office received a call about an individual possibly having a mental health crisis in the Buna area of Jasper County. Hardin County Sheriff’s Office also received the information as the individual we were attempting to locate was driving in a vehicle. After searching, the individual was located near the Neches River Bridge on the Hardin County side. Officers from both counties and a mental health professional were on scene and were able to contact the individual. After lengthy communication, the person voluntarily exited the vehicle and accepted help from Spindletop Services.

Chief Deputy Scott Duncan would like to thank the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office for their diligence in ensuring this crisis was resolved peacefully and for the team effort between agencies. Duncan also credits this resolution to having a certified mental health professional on the scene to provide specialized knowledge and experience.

beneficial even in the first few days of the official operation.
