Spectrum expands fiber broadband service to Gregg County

GREGG COUNTY, Texas — Spectrum announced the expansion of its fiber broadband network in Gregg County, bringing high-speed internet, mobile, TV and voice services to more than 3,100 additional homes and businesses in previously unserved or underserved areas.

The expansion includes parts of Gladewater, Kilgore, Longview and White Oak. The project is part of Spectrum’s multi-year rural construction initiative, supported by more than $7 billion in private investment, that will add more than 100,000 miles of fiber infrastructure nationwide and serve more than 1.7 million new locations.

“Spectrum is bringing gigabit broadband to rural communities in Texas and across America,” said Brad Shely, vice president of construction for Spectrum’s Texas-Louisiana service area. “Our investment is providing residents and small businesses superior connectivity at competitive prices, backed by local technicians and U.S.-based customer service.”

State Rep. Jay Dean said the expansion will benefit families and businesses in House District 7.

“This keeps them connected with loved ones, work, healthcare and schooling,” Dean said.

Spectrum Internet offers speeds up to 1 gigabit per second, with starting speeds of 500 megabits per second. The service includes Advanced WiFi and carries no data caps, contracts or modem fees. According to the most recent “Measuring Broadband America” report from the Federal Communications Commission, Spectrum exceeded its advertised speeds across all measured tiers.

Spectrum customers can also bundle internet with Spectrum Mobile, which offers unlimited plans starting at $30 per month. The company also offers Spectrum TV packages that include access to several major streaming services at no additional cost.
