Single-vehicle accident early this morning sends one to JMH

Sam Rayburn, Tx Lake Rayburn Volunteer Fire Department responded to single-vehicle accident on US 96 S of the RR255 intersection at 3 am Friday morning and found that the driver was injured and needed to be transported to the hospital.

Texas Department of Public Safety Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 3 a.m., a 2011 Toyota Prius was traveling south. It is reported that the driver failed to drive in a single lane, entered the center median, then traveled into a side skid across the road and struck a tree."

The driver, identified as 26-year-old Jasmine Carnales of Jasper, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
