Report from US National Weather Service Lake Charles

Here are the latest probabilities of freezing rain across the region Monday into Monday night. Parts of northern Tyler, Jasper and Newton counties as well as northern Vernon, Rapides and Avoyelles parishes continue to have an approximately 40% chance of seeing minimal freezing rain accumulation. The remainder of the region is looking at an approximately 20% chance of freezing rain accumulation. Based on the current forecast, these accumulations are NOT expected to be significant enough to produce electrical outages. Some elevated roads or bridges may become icy where freezing rain occurs. ~ Donald Jones
