KIRBYVILLE, TEXAS - On October 26th, Kirbyville was treated to not just one, but two fall events hosted by two different churches: The Life Restoration Outreach Church had their Pumpkinpalooza and the Kirbyville Missionary Baptist Church held their trunk or treating event. Both events were free and offered games and food for visiting familiars to have a fun and safe experience this Halloween season.

The first church boasted tracker hay rides and a free Pumpkin Patch where kids could go out and claim their own pumpkin. Children are given tickets that they can spend and collect from various games and events like the cupcake walk.

“We’ve done about nine of these,” said one of the volunteers, Joan Sikes. “We do this for the kids mostly. They love it and we all have fun.”

Further up the highway at Missionary Baptist Church a chili cookoff was held inside as the trunk or treat was going on outside.

“We had a great turn out today,” Said Pastor Clint Mitchelle, “This is my first year doing this sort of thing, but it’s been great all around.”

Both events were held between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. and brought the community together in their own ways to celebrate the spooky season!
