One vehicle accident yesterday morning on Hwy 255

Early yesterday morning, June 8th, Lake Rayburn Volunteer Fire Department and The Department of Public Safety (DPS) were called out to a one vehicle accident with entrapment in Recreational Highway 255.


According to the investigators, at approximately 1:40 a.m., a 2007 Red Chevy Pick up was traveling eastbound on Hwy 255 approaching a curve in the road at Wingate Boulevard. The vehicle crossed into the westbound lane in a side skid and rolled over several times. The vehicle came to rest on the passenger side facing south in the ditch.


The driver of the Chevy truck was identified as 19-year-old Mason Wyatt of Lumberton. Wyatt was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital with non-life -threatening injuries.


The wreck is still under investigation.
