One vehicle accident near Burkeville resulted in no injuries

On Sunday afternoon, Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Department of Public Safety were called out to a one-vehicle crash on state Highway 63, east of Burkeville.

According to DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 1:25 p.m., a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east. It is reported that the Chevrolet was traveling at an unsafe speed, left the roadway to the right, and came to rest in the barrow ditch".

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 23-year-old Ronaldo Murcia Melara of Forrest Hill, La., was not injured.
