SUSAN FERN BLACK

April 21, 1947 - October 10, 2025

Susan Fern Black, 78, of Buna, died Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born on April 21, 1947, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Marion Fern Pearson Parker and Gladwin “Bud” Parker.

Susan worked for Evadale Independent School District for over twenty years. She was a member of New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Evadale, where she had a passion for children’s ministry.

Survivors include her loving husband, Bill Black; children, Kenneth Edward Black of Evadale; Kathryn Black McClelland and her husband, Scott, of Six Mile, South Carolina; and Gregory Gladwin Black and his wife, Brandy, of Evadale; grandchildren, Heather Huff and her husband, Coleman, of Central, South Carolina; Destiny McClelland of Senaca, South Carolina; Morgan Black and his wife, Katlin, of Evadale; Casey Black of Lumberton; Parker Black and his wife, Emily, of Lake Heath, England; and Katie McClelland of Kissimmee, Florida; great-grandchildren, Hadleigh Black, Everleigh Black, and Adeline Huff; and sister, Ellen Peters of Lennox, South Dakota. She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, MarilynnTerry.

A gathering of Mrs. Black’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Antioch Cemetery, Buna.
