Obituary of Linda Darnell Hamilton

Linda Darnell Hamilton, 83, of departed this life Sunday November 9, 2025.

Linda Darnell Smith Hamilton was born in Strong, Arkansas on March 27, 1942. She was one of seven children. Linda moved around a lot as a young child until she made her home in Little Rock, Arkansas where she became a member of First Baptist Church and graduated High School from Horace Mann High School in 1960. On June 8, 1962, Linda married James Arvell Hamilton. This special union produced two lovely daughters: Karen & Kristina. Linda was a homemaker who provided a stable home environment for her hard-working husband while raising her beautiful girls. She enjoyed life with James until his passing in 2001.

Linda was a quiet, soft-spoken patient person who seemed to never get upset. She looked forward to family time, especially cooking during the holidays, which she did well!! In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sewing and teaching Sunday School. Her grand excitement was traveling and shopping with her daughters who often referred to her as “one of the girls”. Throughout her illness, Linda was surrounded by the love and care of her daughters and sons-in-law until she gained her wings on November 9, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Enice and Elmo Smith, husband James Hamilton, sisters Gladys Channel, and Sylvia Nichols and brothers Hugh Smith, Bobby Smith, Oscar Smith and Otto Smith.

Linda leaves to cherish her memories her daughters Karen Hamilton-Sandles (Johnnie) of Pearland, Texas and Kristina Hamilton-Smith (Carey) of Kingwood, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
