Obituary of James Thomas Powell July 8, 1949 - January 29, 2025

James Thomas Powell, 75 of Buna passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Harbor Hospice in Jasper.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Central Baptist Church in Buna with cremation to follow. Visitation will begin at 12 pm prior to service.

Born July 8, 1949 to John Powell, Jr. and Lois (Overstreet) in Silsbee, TX he was a retired communications supervisor at Dupont and served in the US Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Joni Powell of Buna; son, Trent Powell and Lisa of Bunal Jami Wilkerson and Justin of Katy; sister, Regina Broussard and Jody of Mon. Belvieu; grandchildren, Camryn, Judd, Alli, Lily, Lainey, Tucker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gail Guelker.
