Clyde E. Sheffield, 85, of Warren, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, Texas.
Visitation will begin 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. service time on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church in Warren with burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville. Officiating will be Brother Ed King. Serving as pallbearers will be Len Harkness, Kyle Breaux, Rocky Burke, Bubbi Nichols, Luke Nichols, and Ronnie Reese.
Clyde was born September 1, 1939 to Angue Jefferson and Annie Webb Sheffield in Emilee Community near Colmesneil, Texas. He worked for many years at Lamar University in the Maintenance Department. He enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hunting coon, birds, deer and going fishing. Clyde was a perfectionist when it came to yardwork, it had been said that his yard looked like a park. He also had a passion for the news when it came to the weather report. Clyde had volunteered with the Baptist Men following Hurricane Katrina. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Warren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Angus and Annie Sheffield; brother, A.J. Sheffield; and sister, Mary Ella Dean.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandra “Sandy” Sheffield; son, Jeff Sheffield and wife, Cynthia; daughters, Rene Benavidez, Karen Hudson, and Pam Bruton; sister, Annie Lois Jenkins; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
