Newton VFD Receives Grant

NEWTON TEXAS - Newton Volunteer Fire Department received a grant from Texas Forest Service for a set of battery-operated tools for extractions. Tools were purchased through Delta Fire and Safety Inc of Eunice, LA. Included in the set was 1 lighted handle cutter and 1 lighted handle spreaders, 1 set of extension tips, 1 chain saw, 1 cut off saw, 1 reciprocating saw, 1 battery charger and 2 extra batteries. These are DeWalt Brand.

Grants from TFS are a great help to smaller departments who wouldn't normally be able to purchase tools and gear without their help.

This particular grant is a 90/10 cost share, so we get brand new equipment for a lesser cost.
