Newton Eagles Scrimmage shows PROMISE

The scrimmage against Kirbyville showcased Newton speed. The field was shortened on multiple plays as the Eagles blew past the Kirbyville defenders on the way to the endzone. The scripted plays both offense and defense were in Newton's favor. The Eagle defense did not allow the Wildcats to cross the goal line. In the two quarter game situation the Eagles took it to the Cats 22 to 0. The young Eagles stumbled a bit here and there but the flashes of greatness show the possibility of a great season. Next week on Friday August 25th the Eagles open the season against Anahuac here at Singletary Stadium at 7:00 pm. Wear your Purple and be loud! Purple Pride Never Dies!!
