Multiple-Vehicle Crash at Dam B Bridge Sends Six to Hospital, One Airlifted in Critical Condition

BEECH GROVE, Texas — A four-vehicle collision near the Dam B bridge on U.S. Highway 190 West early Wednesday morning sent six people to the hospital, including one who was airlifted in critical condition.

The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department (BGVFD) was dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:45 a.m. Fire units arrived to find a multi-vehicle crash at the westbound red light of the bridge, including one black SUV with a patient trapped inside.
Firefighters extricated the patient from the SUV before that individual was transported by Air Rescue – Beaumont/Jasper in critical condition. Five other patients were treated at the scene and transported by Allegiance Mobile Health – Jasper EMS to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety – Southeast Texas Region. Jasper Exxon Towing and Recovery, along with Hatch’s Towing, LLC, removed the vehicles from the roadway, which remained closed for approximately 90 minutes.
Jasper Volunteer Fire Department assisted with establishing a landing zone and managing traffic, while Dam B Volunteer Fire Department assisted with traffic control on the Tyler County side of the bridge.
BGVFD responded with Engine 11 and seven firefighters.
