Updated: (victim identified)Motorcycle accident last night on FM 1004 has claimed a life

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated a fatal crash on Farm-to-Market Road 1004, near County Road 701, that occurred Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 9:10 p.m., a Suzuki motorcycle was traveling southeast, while a Honda Accord was traveling northwest. It is reported the Honda Accord made a left turn into a private drive and was struck by the Suzuki.
The rider of the motorcycle, identified as 44-year-old David Williams of Buna was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 20-year-old Chelsi Gore of Buna, was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Our original story: Just after 9pm last night, a call came in regarding a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle accident. We have reached out to DPS, however the investigation is not complete at this time.
DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "I can confirm at this time that the driver of a motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace following a two vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market Road 1004. Once I speak with the investigative Trooper and obtain the details I will get you the release."
