Motorcycle accident caused by driver of car who reportedly left the scene

A motorcycle accident on Hwy 96, near County Road 236, that occurred Saturday, March 1st is believed to have been caused by an unknown vehicle that at the time, continued driving.


The Department of Public Safety Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 11:33 a.m., a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling north. It is reported that an unknown vehicle pulled from a private drive in front of the motorcycle and caused the rider to lose control and travel into the center median, where it overturned and ejected the rider. The unknown vehicle continued north and has not been located."


The rider of the motorcycle, identified as 62-year-old William Schlosser of Jasper, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
