Missing near the Neches River

RUSK, Texas — Authorities are searching for a 57-year-old man after his vehicle was found abandoned near the Neches River over the weekend.

The Rusk Police Department said James David Blount was last seen Tuesday. His vehicle was discovered Saturday along Highway 84 West at the Neches River, which marks the boundary between Cherokee and Anderson counties.

Blount is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall with brown hair and blue eyes. Police have not released details on what he was last wearing or the direction he may have traveled after his vehicle was found.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on Blount’s whereabouts to call 911 or the Rusk Police Department at 903-683-2677.
