Michelle Brewer speaks at the Kirbyville Women's Civic Club
Michelle Brewer , with the Jefferson County Long Term Recovery Group, addressed the Kirbyville Women's Civic Club on the topic of "The Joy of Volunteering" at the group's monthly meeting Thursday afternoon.
Brewer discussed many facets of volunteering which included Opportunities, Impact and Volunteer Needs. Brewer was appointed to the One Star Foundation by Governor Greg Abbott.
In 2019, Brewer was invited to join the Disaster Leadership Team, a national volunteer group of recovery leaders that deploy to disaster impacted communities across the United States, offering training, mentorship and support in establishing a recovery model and effort.
Members of Kirbyville Women's Civic Club brought a number of items that will be donated this month to KCO.
The Kirbyville Women's Civic Club meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month and is open to the public interested in getting involved in the Kirbyville region.
