LUFKIN, Texas — A routine stop for snacks turned into a life-changing event for one Lufkin resident last week.
On Wednesday, Feb. 4, a customer at the Kwick Korner Food Mart, located at the intersection of Timberland Drive and Chestnut Street, purchased a $50 "500X" scratch-off ticket. That ticket turned out to be a $1 million top-prize winner.
While the winner has chosen to remain anonymous, the Texas Lottery Commission confirmed the prize was claimed shortly after the sale. The Kwick Korner, a staple convenience stop at 203 S. Timberland Dr., is now the latest "lucky" location in East Texas.

• Total Top Prizes: 15
