Kirbyville Finishes in the Top Ten

KIRBYVILLE, Texas — Cooper Kent and Lane Clark, sophomores at Kirbyville High School turned in a strong performance on the water finishing up the year, placing among the top finishers in the SETX High School Fishing 2025–2026 School of the Year.

Kirbyville finished 8th overall in the current standings, posting consistent scores across multiple events to earn a total of 1,228.61 points, according to results released by the SETX High School Fishing Association.

SETX High School Fishing is made up of teams from dozens of schools across the region and awards School of the Year points based on finishes in multiple sanctioned tournaments throughout the season.

Buna finished 11th overall, while Jasper placed 14th, with both schools ending the opening stretch of the season inside the top 20 of the regional standings.
The standings are currently led by Lumberton, Hamshire-Fannett and Warren.
