JCSO Deputies extradite man from Colorado with assistance from TxDPS aircraft

On September 22nd, 2025, Major Steve Crowell, Deputy Matt Hopson and Texas DPS Aircraft personnel flew to Cañon City, Colorado and took custody of Justin Keith Debourgeois. Debourgeois, 27, of Jasper, fled to Colorado several months ago in an attempt to avoid an Aggravated Robbery charge out of Jasper County. Shortly after arriving in Colorado, he was convicted of crimes there and was sentenced to the Colorado Department of Corrections. Debourgeois was released to our custody today and he’s enroute back to Jasper County where he will answer for his crimes in Jasper County.

We would sincerely like to thank the Texas Department of Public Safety and their personnel for assisting us with extraditing this individual back to Jasper County. We appreciate our relationships with our local, State and Federal law enforcement partners. If anyone commits crime in our county and then flees, we will use every available resource we have to bring them back here to face justice.
