Jasper Trooper Named Top Female Competitor at Statewide DPS Event

JASPER, Texas — A hometown trooper has earned top honors at a statewide law enforcement competition.

Corporal Shana Clark of Jasper, Texas was recognized as the Top Trooper in the Female Division at the 9th Annual Javier Arana Jr. Top Trooper Competition held Feb. 25–28 in Austin, Texas.

The Top Trooper Award recognizes the core competencies of a uniformed trooper, with participants evaluated on job knowledge, physical fitness, firearms proficiency and pursuit driving.

Clark was one of 128 troopers competing for the award.

A graduate of the Texas Department of Public Safety Academy in 2007, Clark has been stationed in her hometown of Jasper since completing her training.

Clark’s recognition highlights her performance across the competition’s core disciplines and marks a significant achievement among her peers statewide.
