In response to the devastating floods that swept through the Texas Hill Country, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) has joined forces with the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office to assist in search and recovery efforts in Kerr County.
A team of six law enforcement officers from JCSO and the Jefferson County D.A.’s Office traveled to Hunt, Texas late Sunday night to support ongoing efforts to locate missing flood victims. On Monday, the team conducted an extensive search along the Guadalupe River, navigating treacherous terrain and heavy debris brought on by the recent flooding.
“The search conditions were extremely challenging due to the large amounts of debris,” said Sheriff Chuck Havard. “After seeing the devastation firsthand, our hearts and prayers remain with the victims, their families, and the entire community of Kerr County and the surrounding areas.”
During the operation, the JCSO team encountered another familiar face from home — Cat5 Resources, a Jasper County-based company, was also on-site providing critical support. Sheriff Havard extended his gratitude to Cat5 owner Cindy Perez for deploying several of her employees to the affected area.
“Her generosity is greatly appreciated, and her staff was very professional and worked diligently,” Havard added. “They represented Jasper County well.”
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that search operations will continue on Tuesday.
