On February 8, 2025, at approximately 12:00 AM, a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on motorcycle for an expired registration. The motorcycle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit left Jasper County, went through Hardin County and finally stopped inside of Liberty County when the motorcycle ran out of fuel.
The operator of the motorcycle was identified as Hunter Douglas Martin, 29, of Willis. It was discovered the motorcycle was stolen out of Montgomery County. He was arrested and brought to the Jasper County Jail and charged with Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle (F3) and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (SJF).
Mr. Martin is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Sheriff Chuck Havard and his staff are committed to combating criminal activity in Jasper County.
