The wind was strong yesterday, feeding into fire conditions on FM 252

and 1013. Area firemen were able to get the blaze under control

relatively quickly. While we are not currently under a burn ban,

please be smart when burning and pay attention to weather conditions.

Deputies and DPS recovered a Jeep in the woods by the Buna Little

League Ballpark in Buna over the weekend. The Jeep had been reported

stolen out of Vidor PD.

We had a jailer assaulted by an inmate in the jail last week. The

jailer sustained minor injuries, while the suspect received an

additional felony charge of Assault on a Public Servant. Hopefully,

they’ll calm down and get some sense.
