Jasper City Attorney Michael Ratcliff arrested for DWI

At 5:49 Sunday evening, DPS Troopers arrested Jasper City Attorney Michael Ratcliff following a traffic stop on Farm-to-Market Road 2799, near Live Oak Road.

DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "A DPS Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota Rav4 for an equipment violation. It is reported that the Trooper observed signs of impairment and following a series of standardized field sobriety tests, the driver was determined to be intoxicated and placed under arrest".

The driver, identified as 71-year-old Michael Ratcliff of Jasper, was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor offense, and transported to the Jasper County Jail for processing.
