Houston based company to bring jobs to our area

The Jasper Economic Development Corporation has announced an exciting partnership with a Houston based company that will bring new jobs to our area.


The organizations Executive Director, Eddie Hopkins told our 12News counterpart David Ingram today that a Houston based company, Gated Rentals Home Assembly, LLC., has agreed to lease some property in Jasper for a manufacturing plant. The property is located on Highway 63 just east of 190, at the former Owens-Illinois/Louisiana Pacific Plywood Mill. Negotiations to lease the land began in 2023 between he landowner, Bruce's' Management and Gated Rentals Home Assembly, LLC.


The company will be building a 189,000 square foot building on 50 acres of the property and will initially employ 50 workers and ramp up to around 150 employees.


Jasper Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Eddie Hopkins told ETB today, "The company is called Gated Rentals. They will be building tiny homes at our manufacturing plant here in Jasper. The homes are built on a chassis which will be moved to the company's property located in Houston and Harris Counties. It's a really neat concept that brings a lot of opportunities to our area."
