Hardin County Sheriff Investigating After Two Men Found Dead Early Sunday

HARDIN COUNTY, Texas — Two men were found dead early Sunday morning following a shooting near Silsbee, according to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of gunfire around 2:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Fresenius Road. When they arrived, they found two men lying near the roadway with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Locals told the EastTexasBanner that an event was held on the same stretch of road Saturday evening, though investigators have not said whether it is connected to the shooting.
Sheriff Mark Davis said investigators are working to determine a motive and are interviewing potential witnesses. Two persons of interest have been detained as the investigation continues.
