Former Orange Co. Law Enforcement Officer charged with Aggravated Kidnapping of 12-year-old girl
Vidor Police have arrested a former Orange County Deputy and former Vidor ISD Police Officer, 23-year-old Ethan Majors. Majors has been charged with Aggravated Kidnapping.
On Sunday, November 17, 2024, the Vidor PD received a call from a mother regarding her 12-year-old daughter who had snuck out of her home. The girl was reportedly picked up by a man who transported her across state lines to Lake Charles. According to reports, the girl was taken back to her home later that same morning.
The Vidor Police Department is holding an ongoing joint investigation with the Lake Charles Police Department.
Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll has released the following statement;
We continue to be in contact with Lake Charles, PD, and as the case progresses, if there are additional charges rendered, then we will be notifying and executing warrants and making sure the case is taken to the point of justice being served.
We will then look at the possibility of presenting the case to our federal partners to see if the US Attorney's Office would like to prosecute it, but that, again, would be in conjunction with the Orange County DA 's office that they believe that the federal court system may be more appropriate for this crime.
Majors' bond has been set at $250,000.
