Fire Update from Jasper County Judge Mark Allen

Looks like all of the fires, including Buna, the CR 517/509 and the FM 252 fires have (some) containment. Fire departments are still working on (these fires) right now though, and resources are being diverted where they can best help to get full containment.

Many thanks once again to all of the responding entities from Kirbyville VFD, Buna VFD, Tri-Community VFD, Roganville VFD, Trout Creek VFD, Devil's Pocket VFD, as well as the Texas Forest Service for spending this weekend protecting property and lives.

Thanks to the Texas Department of Public Safety State Troopers as well who also responded and secured the state roadways.

Also many thanks to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office Deputies Chris and Lesley Wade, Lieutenant Jason Hollyfield and Chief Deputy Scott Duncan for responding to help with traffic and fighting the fires.

Volunteer Fire Department's are pulling out now and turning it over to the Texas Forest Service to monitor and maintain on FM 252.
