Final Beryl update for the night

10:30 pm 7/5/24

Tropical Storm Beryl has emerged in the southern Gulf of Mexico this evening with maximum sustained winds of 60 MPH. The forecast track of Beryl has again been shifted slightly north with a landfall now expected near Port Lavaca, TX Monday morning. Beryl is expected to begin to intensify again in about 24 hours and is expected to become a category 1 hurricane prior to landfall.

The biggest impacts to our area continue to be heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding and coastal flooding. Rainfall totals of 4-8 inches are expected with surge of 1-2 feet ~ Donald Jones
