Enormous blaze turned out to be controlled burn

Passersbys on Hwy 96 S. near CR 303 saw a massive fire burning in the distance this afternoon. At least one person called for help.

Jasper Volunteer Fire Department responded with several trucks and fire fighters. Once on the scene they were told that it was actually a controlled burn and everything was fine.

While this was a dry run, it's always a good idea to call the authorities just in case.
