Obituary of Emma "Pinky" Peterson

December 7, 1962 - April 21, 2025

Emma “Pinky” Peterson (62) left our world much too soon on April 21, 2025.

Pinky was preceded in death by her parents, Ezekiel and Emma Almanza; brothers, Zeke, Donny, and Bobby; and sisters, Irene, Patty and Anita.

She is survived by her son, Travis Peterson of Spring, TX; daughter, Jeni Pesqueira and husband Johnny of Pflugerville TX; grandchildren Jett & Jordyn Pesqueira; brother, David Almanza of San Diego, CA; and sister, Sally Vukman of Oakland, CA.

Pinky is also survived by her chosen family, Elaine “Pippin” Tolbert of Woodville, TX; kids, Jessica Hatton and husband Trace of Fred, TX, and Cain Tolbert of San Marcos, TX; “Grand” kids, Case, Trent and Rylee of Fred, TX; and her sweet fur baby Maggie.

Being the youngest of nine children, Pinky is also survived by too many nieces and nephews to list, but she was adored by them all.

Pinky loved to travel and she and Pippin made many wonderful trips together. Just recently they took their daughters for a bucket list trip to Alaska to fulfill her dream of seeing the Northern Lights. Her greatest joy was playing with her grandchildren and being surrounded by family and friends. Music and going to concerts were one of her favorite things and gave her maybe a little too much confidence in her singing and dancing abilities. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date and we will sing and dance for her.
