Constable & Deputy apprehend suspect

NEWTON COUNTY - On Sunday, August 6th, 2023, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Constable Colton Havard and a Deputy with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, was patrolling the area of CR 4101 and CR 4000 in Newton County.

Constable Havard observed a white male working on a building and knew that individual, Christopher Freeman, to have an active felony arrest warrant for Injury to a Child. Freeman has allegedly fled from multiple law enforcement agencies within the last few weeks. Constable Havard and the Deputy made contact and took Freeman into custody and transported him to the Newton County Jail.
