Burglary suspects seen in security footage have been arrested

We recently told our readers about a burglary that happened on May 31st in the Beech Grove community. It was on private property off of County Road 317. The only evidence that the Jasper County Sheriff's Office had to go on were very grainy security camera images.

Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard provided those images to ETB and we shared them with our readers. Apparently not many people appreciate burglars, because it wasn't long before tips were pouring in.

45-year-old Kenneth Ray Walker of Jasper

Today, June 2nd, Jasper County CID Investigators obtained arrest warrants for 45-year-old Kenneth Ray Walker of Jasper and 59-year-old Joseph Matthew Layton also of Jasper. Both men were charged with Burglary of a Building and were transferred to Jasper County Jail.

Sheriff Havard said, "Most of the stolen property was recovered and will be returned to the owner. Thank you to the citizens of Jasper County for helping us identify these two suspected burglars."

As a reminder, both Walker and Layton are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
