Blowout sends one to St. Elizabeth

NEWTON COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated a crash on Farm-to-Market Road 1004, just east of County Road 3100, that occurred Tuesday, November 28. 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 4:34 p.m., a 1997 Honda CRV was traveling west and reportedly suffered a blow out on the front right tire, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree.  

The driver, identified as 33-year-old Cody Green of Newton, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
