A two-vehicle collision sent both drivers to area hospitals
A two-vehicle wreck this evening sent both drivers to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
It all happened on Hwy 63 West of Jasper near Cr 097 at around 4:49 Friday.
Texas Department of Public Safety Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "A 2014 Jeep SUV was traveling east, while a 2014 Nissan passenger car was traveling west. It is reported that the driver of the Jeep disregarded a no passing zone, entered the westbound lane, and struck the Nissan head-on. After impact, the Jeep overturned".
Clark said that the driver of the Jeep, identified as 46-year-old Larry Beck of Lufkin, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as 67-year-old Dianne Balusek of Zavalla, was also transported, but she was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Medical Center for treatment of her non-life-threatening injuries.
