As previously reported in the East Texas Banner, 92-year-old James Howard Turner was indicted in October 2023 on eight charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14.

The assaults reportedly took place from 2003-2007 when the child was very young.

Turner was arrested last week by Hardin County Sheriff's Department and was released on January 19, 2024 on a $40,000 bond. This amounts to $5,000 on each of the eight charges of sexual assault of a child.
