7 Day Forecast and Heat Index up to 109°

12News Meteorologist Patrick Vaughn

Strong upper-level high pressure centered over Northwest Texas to the Four Corners is responsible for the hot, dry weather Monday.

The high will remain strong through the rest of this week and the weekend. This will result in hot, dry weather with abundantly sunny afternoons and highs climbing into the upper 90s to possibly the Century Mark.

Early next week, the high will weaken which will allow afternoon highs to “cool” into the middle 90s with very isolated showers, storms possible.

In the Tropics, a wave near the Lesser Antilles is expected to remain south of our area and instead move into Mexico.

Early next week, the high will move to our east. This will allow a southeast flow in the middle to upper-levels. The result will be lower highs and widely-scattered showers and thunderstorms.
